Just a reminder of how I’m grading this:
I’ll go through by pick and give each a grade. The grade is an amalgamation of the prospect grade, the position they were drafted at and the needs of the team. This is the most reactionary shit I’ll get into. I’ll try and give a rationale when available I get the chance.
33. Cincinnati Bengals: Tee Higgins, WR, Clemson
Grade: A+
Reaction: My second best reciever on the board and they got him in round 2 to pair with Burrow. Amazin.
34. Indianapolis: Colts Michael Pittman Jr., WR, USC
Grade: A
Reaction: 6th best receiver in a really deep class. Had the Colts trading up to get Pittman in round 1 so this is an easy A.
35. Detroit Lions: D'Andre Swift, RB, Georgia
Grade: B
Reaction: My favorite pure RB in the draft. Just a little early to take an RB.
36. New York Giants: Xavier McKinney, S, Alabama
Grade: B+
Reaction: Considered a first round talent by most, he feels better as an early 2nd rounder which was where he went. Giants need the help on defense.
37. New England Patriots: Kyle Dugger, S, Lenoir–Rhyne
Grade: C?
Reaction: I watched like no film on this guy, I trust in Bill but I barely saw any film on this guy since he was a DII player.
38. Carolina Panthers Yetur: Gross-Matos, DE, Penn State
Grade: B
Reaction: A good pick, Gross-Matos is the second or third best pure 4/3 defense ends.
39. Miami Dolphins: Robert Hunt, G, Louisiana
Grade: B-
Reaction: A little early but good on Miami getting more protection for Tua.
40. Houston Texans: Ross Blacklock, DT, TCU
Grade: B+
Reaction: I had a different AFC South team grabbing Ross but he is an interior force and the Texans need help on defense.
41. Indianapolis Colts: Jonathan Taylor, RB, Wisconsin
Grade: B-
Reaction: Don’t pay running backs, smart. Taylor went a bit early but he’s a good pure RB.
42. Jacksonville Jaguars: Laviska Shenault, WR, Colorado
Grade: B-
Reaction: I had Shenault a bit later in the second but he’s got a special set of skills like Lamb or Hamler that most wide receiving groups don’t have.
43. Chicago Bears: Cole Kmet, TE, Notre Dame
Grade: B-
Reaction: Probably the best TE in the draft but that’s not saying much this year.
44. Cleveland Browns: Grant Delpit, S, LSU
Grade: A-
Reaction: Delpit is so good in coverage IDK how he fell so far in the contemporary NFL. Finally replacing Peppers.
45. Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Antoine Winfield Jr., S, Minnesota
Grade: A+
Reaction: Best safety in the draft, this pick is an unequivocal A+.
46. Denver Broncos: K. J. Hamler, WR, Penn State
Grade: B
Reaction: I would have taken a CB over a WR if I was Denver here but helping Lock develop is a priority for Denver. Hamler is a really raw prospect but if he can learn to run routes and catch the ball better he’ll make this receiving group one of the best in the league.
47. Atlanta Falcons: Marlon Davidson, DE, Auburn
Grade: C-
Reaction: There were better ends out there, too early.
48. Seattle Seahawks: Darrell Taylor, DE, Tennessee
Grade: C-
Reaction: See above
49. Pittsburgh Steelers: Chase Claypool, WR, Notre Dame
Grade: C+
Reaction: I trust the Steelers drafting good WRs in round 2. But Chase was farther down on my board than this.
50. Chicago Bears: Jaylon Johnson, CB, Utah
Grade: B
Reaction: A good corner in a deep class. The Bears needed secondary help, young secondary help.
51. Dallas Cowboys: Trevon Diggs, CB, Alabama
Grade: B+
Reaction: Dallas needed a CB bad, it’s the only real glaring spot on their team right now. Diggs could have been a first rounder but there was a better CBs out there.
52. Los Angeles Rams: Cam Akers, RB, Florida State
Grade: B-
Reaction: They needed a RB so the pick makes sense but he’s not the guy I would have gone in on.
53. Philadelphia Eagles: Jalen Hurts, QB, Oklahoma
Grade: F
Reaction: Hate the prospect, hate how early he went, hate the Eagles taking a backup QB in the second when they have ba 27 year old QB locked up on a LTD.
54. Buffalo Bills: A. J. Epenesa, DE, Iowa
Grade: A-
Reaction: Could have been a first round pick, pairing him with their first rounder from last year on the D-line is prudent. Also replacing Shaq Lawson here.
55. Baltimore Ravens: J. K. Dobbins, RB, Ohio State
Grade: B
Reaction: Yea I thought the Ravens would take a RB but not this early. The Ingram deal isn’t that bad but he’s getting older and they will need a lead back once he’s no longer useful and worth the price.
56. Miami Dolphins: Raekwon Davis, DT, Alabama
Grade: B+
Reaction: Really good pick, an underrated prospect because teams probably don’t value DT that much. Miami keeps adding talent in the trenches.
57. Los Angeles Rams: Van Jefferson, WR, Florida
Grade: B+
Reaction: Glad NFL teams realize how talented Jefferson is even in such a crowded WR class. Wanted Baltimore to take him in round 3.
58. Minnesota Vikings: Ezra Cleveland, OT, Boise State
Grade: B+
Reaction: I don’t love Cleveland but Minnesota need to add to the O-line. A good pick and he might even be the BPA but I’m not sold on the prospect.
59. New York Jets: Denzel Mims, WR, Baylor
Grade: A
Reaction: 100% a first round talent. Steal by the Jets here.
60. New England Patriots: Josh Uche, OLB, Michigan
Grade: B+
Reaction: The best Pats pick so far.
61. Tennessee Titans: Kristian Fulton, CB, LSU
Grade: A+
Reaction: Literal highway robbery, I’m so mad Tenn took him.
62. Green Bay Packers: A. J. Dillon, RB, Boston College
Reaction: B-
Grade: I like Dillion a lot but I’m not sure he was the biggest need for the Pack at this point in the draft.
63. Kansas City Chiefs: Willie Gay, ILB, Mississippi State
Reaction: C
Grade: Too early but a need for KC.
64. Carolina Panthers: Jeremy Chinn, S, Southern Illinois
Grade: C+
Reaction: Defense is a need and Chinn is a third round talent but I’m just not into the prospect
65. Cincinnati Bengals: Logan Wilson, ILB, Wyoming
Grade: B
Reaction: Like the prospect, maybe a little to early but get your guy Cincy.
66. Washington Redskins: Antonio Gibson, RB, Memphis
Grade: D+
Reaction: Crowded RB room and I don’t think Gibson stands out.
67. Detroit Lions: Julian Okwara, OLB, Notre Dame
Grade: B
Reaction: Good pass rusher, a real Pats pick which is funny AF.
68. New York Jets: Ashtyn Davis, S, California
Grade: C+
Reaction: Trading Jamal Adams soon, nah but helping the defense will go a long way. Other analysts like him better than I do so I wont give him lower than a C.
69. Seattle Seahawks: Damien Lewis, G, LSU
Grade: B
Reaction: Adding a good player to a line that could use depth.
70. Miami Dolphins: Brandon Jones, S, Texas
Grade: B
Reaction: Not as good as Minkah but a better prospect than I initially thought. Right around here is where he should go.
71. Baltimore Ravens: Justin Madubuike, DT, Texas A&M
Grade: B-
Reaction: Reinforcing the defensive line is smart, after drafting a LB this defense is getting back to scary status.
72. Arizona Cardinals: Josh Jones, OT, Houston
Grade: B+
Reaction: I had a second round grade but I thought he would go in the first. Really good pickup for the Cards.
73. Jacksonville Jaguars: DaVon Hamilton, DT, Ohio State
Grade: B
Reaction: The Jags are 100% transitioning to a 3/4 and Hamilton a great NT/DT for the new look D.
74. New Orleans Saints: Zack Baun, OLB, Wisconsin
Grade: A-
Reaction: Just taking BPA here, the Saint don’t have too many needs so this is a great pick.
75. Detroit Lions: Jonah Jackson, G, Ohio State
Grade: B+
Reaction: Had an easy second round grade on Jackson, close to a steal here even if it’s early third round.
76. Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Ke'Shawn Vaughn, RB, Vanderbilt
Grade: D+
Reaction: Another crowded backfield and Vaughn doesn’t stand out.
77. Denver Broncos: Michael Ojemudia, CB, Iowa
Grade: C
Reaction: There are better CBs out there but this was a position of need.
78. Atlanta Falcons: Matt Hennessy, C, Temple
Grade: B-
Reaction: Probably the second best center but just like tight end that isn’t saying a lot.
79. New York Jets: Jabari Zuniga, DE, Florida
Grade: C?
Reaction: Jets getting edge help is good but I did not review enough film to get a good look at Zuniga.
80. Las Vegas Raiders: Lynn Bowden, WR, Kentucky
Grade: C-
Reaction: They took a better WR with the next pick, this is a going be a crowded WR room.
81. Las Vegas Raiders: Bryan Edwards, WR, South Carolina
Grade: B
Reaction: Better than the previous pick, a 3rd round selection that no one should quibble with.
82. Dallas Cowboys: Neville Gallimore, DT, Oklahoma
Grade: A-
Reaction: BPA, most had him as a second rounder. I did as well, Dallas just killing the draft. Good teams have this luxury.
83. Denver Broncos: Lloyd Cushenberry, C, LSU
Grade: B
Reaction: Almost every team can use offensive line help and the Broncos are no exception. Prospect also has a really high ceiling.
84. Los Angeles Rams: Terrell Lewis, OLB, Alabama
Grade: B-
Reaction: The Rams need offensive line help more than edge/LB but Terrell is a good prospect. 3rd round is about right.
85. Indianapolis Colts: Julian Blackmon, S, Utah
Grade: B
Reaction: 3rd round grade on this prospect, the Colts need more veteran players on the defense but adding talent any way they can is necessary. Unsure if he can be an impact right away though.
86. Buffalo Bills: Zack Moss, RB, Utah
Grade: B
Reaction: They needed another RB and a change of pace guy. Moss is that guy. Bills continue to make complementary but important improvements.
87. New England Patriots: Anfernee Jennings, OLB, Alabama
Grade: C
Reaction: The Pats usually kill the middle to later rounds but Jennings is a reach here.
88. Cleveland Browns: Jordan Elliott, DT, Missouri
Grade: B+
Reaction: Browns went BPA and again help out the defense. Probably going to be a rotational guy for the Browns but a contributor for the defense nonetheless. Not a LB but still good help.
89. Minnesota Vikings: Cameron Dantzler, CB, Mississippi State
Grade: A+
Reaction: IDK how he fell this far, another steal and at a position of need for the Vikings. Almost couldn’t do better here.
90. Houston Texans: Jonathan Greenard, OLB, Florida
Grade: C
Reaction: Was this a reach? Yes.
91. New England Patriots: Devin Asiasi, TE, UCLA
Grade: C+
Reaction: At least New England knows where they have needs. But there were better receiving tight ends out there for them to scoop up.
92. Baltimore Ravens: Devin Duvernay, WR, Texas
Grade: C-
Reaction: Not even the best Texas WR on the board smh. A stain on an otherwise perfect draft so far. But at least they did identify depth at WR as a need.
93. Tennessee Titans: Darrynton Evans, RB, Appalachian State
Grade: C
Reaction: Was App State really this good last year? IDK but it’s smart to put a RB with Evans behind Henry especially when the Titans don’t sign Henry to a LTD next year.
94. Green Bay Packers: Josiah Deguara, TE, Cincinnati
Grade: D+
Reaction: This is Jace Sternberger’s team please kindly fuck off.
95. Denver Broncos: McTelvin Agim, DT, Arkansas
Grade: C+
Reaction: “sure” me when this happened, “sure” me right now.
96. Kansas City Chiefs: Lucas Niang, OT, TCU
Grade: B
Reaction: Not a huge fan of Niang but if the Chiefs have a need it’s O-line.
97. Cleveland Browns: Jacob Phillips, ILB, LSU
Grade: B
Reaction: Browns desperately needed to fill LB. Phillips is a guy who I didn’t get to see enough film on but an upgrade for the Browns easy.
98. Baltimore Ravens: Malik Harrison, ILB, Ohio State
Grade: A-
Reaction: I don’t know other LBs went in from of Harrison. I’m flabbergasted. Ignoring the other 3rd rounder this is almost a perfect draft for the Ravens.
99. New York Giants: Matt Peart, OT, UConn
Grade: C+
Reaction: The Giants have spent a lot of draft capital on the offensive line in the past few years. They should have looked WR but I don’t hate the talent.
100. Las Vegas Raiders: Tanner Muse, ILB, Clemson
Grade: B-
Reaction: Linebacker feels like a strength for the Raiders now but I’m not going to knock this pick too much with all the other LBs off the board.
101. New England Patriots: Dalton Keene, TE, Virginia Tech
Grade: B-
Reaction: I like Keene better for NE but drafting another tight end seems like overkill when I really dislike the QB and the WR situation.
102. Pittsburgh Steelers: Alex Highsmith, OLB, Charlotte
Grade: C
Reaction: Not sure defense was a need for the Steelers but as a rotational guy I could get behind this pick.
103. Philadelphia Eagles: Davion Taylor, OLB, Colorado
Grade: C-
Reaction: There are other needs that needed to be addressed but linebacker was a one so I can’t knock it too much.
104. Los Angeles Rams: Terrell Burgess, S, Utah
Grade: C-
Reaction: Not the best S I had on the board so this is an L.
105. New Orleans Saints: Adam Trautman, TE, Dayton
Grade: D
Reaction: Not my favorite TE, it’s not close really at this point.
106. Baltimore Ravens: Tyre Phillips, G, Mississippi State
Grade: B-
Reaction: Good pick at the end of the round, need offensive line help when your so dependant on the run.
