ONly the best takes here.

Day 1 2024 NFL Draft Reactions

CHI (1): Caleb Williams A+
The third best QB I've scouted since 2021 and the obvious pick. Not much else to say.

WSH (2): Jayden Daniels A-
My QB4 and my least favorite of the big 4 but he's still worth a high pick for a QB needy team with weapons (like he had at LSU). Hard to criticize a team for getting their QB so I won't. Get your QB and win games

NE (3): Drake Maye A
I get it, huge boom or bust like Daniels. I worry teams are falling into the trap of Josh Allen. For every one of him there are 3 Blake Bortles, Christian Ponders, Jamarcus Russells. But you're shooting for upside with a good NE team so I like it.

ARI (4): Marvin Harrison Jr A+
Slam dunk, my favorite non-QB in this draft. Honestly they should draft another WR and they could be right back in the thick of things. Chalk is good a lot of the time.

LAC (5): Joe Alt A
Hard to dislike this pick, chalk/consensus top OT (and my OT1). I like building in the interior and now they have two all pro caliber tackles. Just please take a WR with your next pick or Herbert won't be fully unlocked.

NYG (6): Malik Nabers A+
Any other year Nabers is the top WR hands down. Makes sense, give Jones one more year and they needed WR help. Would have done this if I were the GM. Big fan

TEN (7): JC Latham A+
On the level of Joe Alt, big fan. A position of need and they better hope they get a good QB soon. Congrats on the AFC south for continuing to pick good in the 1st round

ATL (8): Michael Penix Jr. B
Had a third round grade on him but can't give them too low of a grade. My QB5 but this is a perfect place for him to develop behind Cousins. I like the process but I don't like the player this early. You better be right, esp with the defense in ATL

CHI (9): Rome Odunze A
Stacked offense for Caleb? I won't hate. Odunze is the clear WR3 in this class but still a 1st round grade on him. Worth the pick (even tho I woulda gone defense). 95% sure he made Penix the number 8 overall pick lmao

MIN (10): JJ McCarthy A+
Great value, my QB2 and exactly what they need to stay competitive with the offensive juggernauts in the NFC North (I never thought I'd say that sentence). It just fell into their laps and it's what I would have done.

NYJ (11): Olumuyiwa Fashanu A+
Great pick and my OT3; going right in my Big Board order so far. Need to protect Rodgers and will be an instant impact. Might have preferred a tackle who could play guard to like AVT but this is still good

DEN (12): Bo Nix B-
Same grade as Penix but I get it, DEN QB room is bereft of talent. They have their coach they have a new QB but he's my QB6 and had a 3rd round grade on him. Another issue here is the upside is probably limited for Nix and not so much Penix. Iffy for sure

LVR (13): Brock Bowers B+
Like the talent, he should go here but they drafted a TE last year? I guess they view him as big slot? He can block too, maybe Mayer is the big slot? Idk man, odd pick and only this high because of the talent

NO (14): Taliese Fuaga A-
I get taking a tackle/guard here, they need OL help and he can play all over. I still like Penning and all these guys can play in a good OL (potentially). My OT5 and a position of need.

IND (15): Laiatu Latu A-
A little surprised he's the first defender off the board but he's my EDGE3 and worthy a mid-first rounder. I woulda taken a CB if I was them but this is good. He's in the tier one of EDGE prospects in this class no doubt

SEA (16): Byron Murphy A
Man I really didn't think they needed interior after signing Leonard Williams but he's a great player and he fell right into their laps. Steal of the draft so far? Maybe, after McCarthy. 6th best player on my big board

MIN (17): Dallas Turner A
My EDGE2, still prefer Verse but this a good pick at a position of need. (don't care about Van Ginkel) He's polished and they need talent in the D. Great pick!

CIN (18): Amarius Mims A
I wanted to give this an A+ but they had more pressing matters IMO BUT Mims is an insane prospect who could use a bit of sitting out (if that happens) and if not he's the freak the Burrow needs to protect him. I have to hate these picks eventually????

LAR (19): Jared Verse A+
LOVE IT, LOVE IT. Great value, my EDGE1. With him and Latu you get a big boom or bust player but the fact that they got him later than Latu is great value. LAR killing it.

PIT (20): Troy Fautanu A
PIT has been trying to build this line for years, like him more as a guard and probably the best OL prospect they've taken in those years. If the Wilson or Fields experiment is going to work they will need protection (and a WR later)

MIA (21): Chop Robinson A
A little early and I think they could have gone with either OL in a shallower class but he's got all the potential in the world. Him, Shaq, Phillips and Chubb on the DL... my god

PHI (22): Quinyon Mitchell A
At a position of need, would have preferred Arnold at this spot but they needed to address CB or OL and he's my CB2 and my 10th best prospect in this draft

JAX (23): Brian Thomas Jr. B+
Would have preferred corner but getting a good WR here is fine. My WR5 and my 27th best player on the board. I think this a deep WR class so would have preferred waiting on one. Jags need a corner badddd.

DET (24): Terrion Arnold A+
Hell of pick, DET keeps winning the draft. My 4th best player in the draft and my CB1. Don't really care what the trade was it was worth it

GB (25): Jordan Morgan B
A little early for Morgan but can play all over the line which is good. The Pack have the skill position players so beefing up the OL to help out Love is a good call. My next best OT on the board so makes sense. Tackle is now super thin

TB (26): Graham Barton A-
Like him as a guard more than a center but TB desperately needs inside OL help so he's almost perfect for them. I think he's more of a second rounder but this is such a position of need. Good pick

ARI (27): Darius Robinson B+
Can play DT and DE, had a second round grade but my best EDGE available (EDGE5) and they needed to help that Dline. I like it, just would have liked it more in the second round. They should have stuck at 3 last year and taken a better DL lol

KC (28): Xavier Worthy B-
Jeez, this would have been a worse grade if it was any other team but with Mahomes and Reid I believe they can turn him into a hell of a player. I prefer the other Texas WR but this is a weapon KC needs with Kelce getting older and with Rice's status

DAL (29): Tyler Guyton B+
A little bit of reach, my least favorite project at OT but he was only guy left in the potential top tier so I get it. Would have preferred them getting the next Tyler Linderbaum but protecting your QB is always good (at the right price)

BAL (30): Nate Wiggins A
Don't care about the size. He's a first round pick, my CB4 and my 19th best prospect in the draft. The Ravens will not stop winning

SF (31): Ricky Pearsall C-
Oh god this is a bad pick. My WR15, had a third round grade on him and this signals a WR trade from SF? Not good at all. You better hope Purdy is the one.

CAR (32): Xavier Legette C-
Another reach at WR, not great, my WR17 and not worth sniffing the first round. had a 3rd or 4th round grade on him BUT trading into the first round is great, get that extra year. I get the Bills wanting more picks, they need em.

My Top 6 Favorite Picks (Not Counting MHJ and Caleb)
1. DET (24): Terrion Arnold A+
2. MIN (10): JJ McCarthy A+
3. LAR (19): Jared Verse A+
4. NYG (6): Malik Nabers A+
5. TEN (7): JC Latham A+
6. NYJ (11): Olumuyiwa Fashanu A+

My top 4 Least Favorite Picks (I don’t want to put Worthy here because Mahomes and Reid lol)
1. ATL (8): Michael Penix Jr. B
2. SF (31): Ricky Pearsall C-
3. DEN (12): Bo Nix B-
4. CAR (32): Xavier Legette C-
